Project Bond is the new 82-metre flagship of Bilgin Yachts. Commissioned by an American owner the yacht combines long-range capability, generous volume and contemporary interior design by H2 Yacht Design.
“The client has previously owned a yacht designed by H2 Design with a contemporary interior, but he was particularly impressed with two interiors we had designed that illustrated our modern take on art deco style, so this was the starting point.”
Jonny Horsfield, Owner & Creative Director
On the design brief
Project Bond is the latest evolution of Bilgin Yachts' 80-metre platform, developed into an 82-metre long-range tri-deck superyacht with a strong focus on volume, natural light and global cruising capability.
The exterior styling and naval architecture are being developed by Unique Yacht Design, creating a contemporary profile with clean modern lines and balanced proportions. H2 Yacht Design is responsible for the interior design, continuing the collaboration between the two studios across Bilgin's 80-metre projects.
Inside, the design is centred around a soft, open and immersive onboard experience. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing brings natural light deep into the yacht while strengthening the visual relationship between the interior spaces and the surrounding sea. The interior is being developed with a strong emphasis on how the spaces are experienced and lived in, rather than simply maximising volume.
The project also carries a highly personal design brief. Owner John Staluppi's wife, Jeanette, is involved in the interior development, particularly in shaping the layout, atmosphere and way the spaces function for those on board.
Project Bond has been engineered with long-range cruising and access to a wide range of destinations in mind. A shallow 3.6-metre draught allows the yacht to access more harbours and shallower cruising grounds, while maintaining the capability required for worldwide cruising. With a projected range of 5,000 nautical miles, a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots, the yacht combines expedition-style reach with the performance and comfort expected of a modern large superyacht.
At approximately 2,150GT with a 13-metre beam, Project Bond will become the largest yacht owned by Staluppi and the latest chapter in his distinctive collection of James Bond-named yachts.
As a custom Bilgin superyacht, Project Bond demonstrates how a proven large-yacht architecture can be evolved around a highly individual owner's brief, combining advanced engineering with H2 Yacht Design's contemporary approach to luxury yacht interiors.
