Va Bene

Va Bene is a 47.8-metre motor yacht built by the Dutch yard Cornelissen in 1992. She was remodelled at Pendennis in Falmouth with a new interior by H2 Yacht Design, completed in 2008. The refit ran through 2007 and 2008. It made her a finalist for Best Refitted Yacht at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards.

Superyacht refits have been the core of H2's business since the studio completed its first major refit in 1995. Dozens of refit projects preceded Va Bene, and that experience shaped the remodelling of a yacht her current owner had bought in 2005. The main saloon is finished in pale limed wood and filled with natural light. Several seating areas sit across an open plan, with a separate dining room for eight. A second saloon on the upper deck offers a more intimate setting with soft seating and a games table.

Va Bene has a 9.2-metre beam and sleeps 12 guests in six cabins. The full-beam master suite on the main deck has a large private study that converts into a children's cabin. She is built in steel and aluminium to an original design by The A Group. She measures 496 GT and has a top speed of 18 knots.

Pendennis was founded in 1988 in Falmouth, Cornwall. It has been led since a 1992 management buyout by Henk Wiekens and Mike Carr. The yard occupies a 14-acre waterfront site with direct access to the sea. It employs more than 550 tradespeople and has completed more than 350 refits and more than 30 custom builds. The Falmouth facility can build and restore yachts of up to 100 metres. A technical service centre and 48-berth marina in Vilanova, near Barcelona, serves the Mediterranean.
