H2 Yacht Design is seeking a passionate and driven Junior or Graduate Designer to join its London team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented designer with a strong conceptual approach to contribute to high-end yacht interior projects while developing their skills within an experienced design team. Passionate about yacht design and keen on taking initiative to help the design team to meet the deadlines.

Role Description

The successful candidate will support the design team in developing creative concepts and producing high-quality project deliverables and presentations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the design team in the development of design concepts and presentations in line with project requirements and deadlines.
  • Assisting with a range of design tasks, including concept development, elevation renderings, mood boards, CAD drawings, image research, and spatial studies.
  • Researching and sourcing materials, finishes, furniture and FF&E, including liaising with suppliers and maintaining relevant schedules.
  • Assisting senior designers in producing accurate and timely drawing packages, specifications and other construction documentation.
  • Supporting the development of custom furniture and interior details where required.
  • Assisting with project administration and maintaining clear, accurate and well-organised project documentation.
  • Attending key internal and external design meetings, taking notes and issuing meeting minutes where required.
  • Setting up and maintaining organised project files and folders throughout the life of each project.

Required Skills and Experience

  • A professional qualification in Interior Design or a related discipline.
  • A strong, conceptually driven approach to interior design.
  • The ability to communicate design ideas clearly through drawings, presentations and visual references.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong 2D drafting skills and proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • 3D modelling skills, including SketchUp, and/or strong hand-sketching skills are advantageous.
  • A good understanding of spatial design and interior planning.
  • Knowledge of FF&E, fabrics, materials and suppliers is an advantage.
