The Elms

This stunning house is discretely located overlooking Hampstead Heath in North London UK. Following a successful collaboration on the design of their yacht, we were asked to totally redesign the major guest areas including the kitchen, living room and owners’ suite. They wanted us to give the house the feel of a Superyacht which meant giving the interior a built-in feel with attention to every detail.

To guarantee a yacht quality to the project, the owner commissioned the experienced Austrian yacht fit-out company Sinnex to build the new interior. They manufactured and installed the interior with the same precision and workmanship found on a yacht.

The style of the interior had to be chic and warm whilst remaining functional for their young family. The contrast of black lacquer and light rippled sycamore gives the interior a striking and dramatic contrast to the existing more traditional fabric of the building.
