Approach

We are a design company here to serve our customers and, as such, H2 pride ourselves in not having a “house style” that is replicated for each client.Instead our portfolio is wonderfully diverse, enabling us to work in any style the client prefers. This is both stimulating for us as designers and comforting for our customers.

We build a partnership with our clients, bringing the owner into the design process as much or as little as they prefer. Many of our clients feel extremely proud that they may have contributed in the design process, often getting involved much more than they may have expected. We actually encourage this!

“Good design is nothing without function”?

First and foremost it is critical not to lose sight of the fact that we are designing something that floats and moves in an environment that can be both hostile and dangerous at times! Therefore we must always pay attention to this and work hard to design a yacht that is ‘fit for purpose’. This you learn after 20 years in the yacht design industry.

We will always strive to find the most cost effective route, however we have to balance achieving the best results whilst maintaining only the best quality.

A design should have “legs” – that is it should stand the test of time, remaining beautiful and timeless, in order to protect our clients investment. The investment in time and money by clients is not always respected by our industry. We at H2 however, do appreciate this and our clients rightly expect some long term return either as a popular charter yacht or when the time comes to sell the yacht.
